Vacation-Ready: 7 Covetable Looks

Hello my friends,

Today's post is a desperate effort for me to get my mind off of things. For those who don't know, I live in Greece, and we're facing some real hard times. Today is a day that will go down in history. If you've been following the world news then you must be acquainted with the situation here.

I don't want to get political right now, I've expressed my views via tumblr and twitter but this is not the place for that. Some of you may wonder, with everything that's happening to your country how do you have the desire to talk about such frivolous and vapid things like fashion, vacations and shopping?

You have to keep in mind that this website is international and it is directed to people from all around the world. That has always been my intent: to keep it open and accessible to everyone and that's why it isn't written in my mother language (I've always felt more at ease writing in English anyway). I know that not posting today wouldn't hurt anyone but as you can see I haven't updated this blog in a while. I needed to do it today because I need to get away. I need to have hope. I need to interact with people who don't have the same worries as me. I've been discussing politics 24/7 with the people around me and on social media, trying to get my point across, trying to make my voice heard in this madness. I did what I had to. Today is going to be a long day. If what it takes for me to get through it is to talk about shoes and sunscreen, then so be it.

___

That was for my little intro, now on to the good stuff:

Last year I did a vacation appropriate post feat. tips for packing, travelling, and the must-have items and products to accompany you on your trip.

This time around, I'm sharing with you a similar post, slightly altered, on the hottest summer-ready looks for 2015 along with recommendations for your beauty bag. What's different is that each outfit is suited to a different destination and travelling style. So, whether you're going to trail the endless beaches of the Pacific Coast, or soak up on the Greek hot sun, or explore the countryside or find yourself by some pool at a fancy resort or whatever it is you are doing, I hope I've got you covered.

THE BEACH BABE

Vacation Ready: Part 1

My idea of an ideal summer getaway, is a beach. Walking on sand, feeling the coolness of the ocean, watching the water glimmer under the sun (with good company of course) is my version of paradise. Here I have packed for you a stylish beach bag with all the indispensable goodies: la Roche Posay make an incredible sunscreen, and Hawaiian Tropic coconut body butter is perfect for your after-sun body care, plus who can pass up on that delicious smell? A white tooth comb is a must for detangling those beach locks and a facial spritzer by Trilogy (great brand) is a nice product to have for a quick mist of moisture on your skin. The outfit combines some of the season's hottest trends such as the off-the-shoulders crop top, printed shorts and gladiators. Easy breezy.

THE CRUISER

Vacation Ready: Part 2

This is a look for those dainty, prep gals that want to keep themselves comfy yet elegant during their stylish cruise. A loose pair of shorts makes moving around easy and effortless while keeping your style game strong. A black and blue striped shirt adds the much-needed nautical touch to this classy and playful look. This beach bag features an Instax instant film camera for your Taylor Swift-like nostalgic shots, a beautiful YSL Les Sahariennes bronzer for terracotta skin and a bright colorful nail polish by Models Own to keep your toes and fingernails on fleek.

THE ISLAND BEAUTY

Vacation Ready: Part 3

Well, no matter the situation in Greece, the sun is still shining and the beaches are still gorgeous, so to all of you considering visiting our lovely islands, please do not hesitate, we will welcome you and appreciate you even more for coming. Everyone here is happy to cater to your needs. But whether you're going to Greece or any other place with lots of local culture, this look will be perfect. Sandals and sunnies will make it downplayed and casual enough for daytime, while a pair of statement earrings, wedge sandals and a more elaborate makeup look will amp it up for nighttime. A Victoria's Secret Fragrance Mist is always a handy one to keep in your bag for a quick touch-up while a neutral all-in-one eyeshadow and liner palette in a small compact will be your go-to makeup item on most evenings.

THE CITY GOER

Vacation Ready: Part 4

In case you're travelling to a big city like New York or London or even if you're exploring your own city this summer, an easy-to-put-on, colorful romper (I'm dying for that Miss Selfridge one) is a total must-have. On most mornings, I can't be bothered with anything more complicated and I want something I can breathe in and that's easy to dress up for the evening (a pair of high-heeled sandals and earrings will do the job). If it gets chillier in the evening (lol not where I live), throw on a blazer and you will be good to go. As for makeup, that depends on preference entirely, but for me a bit of bronzer and highlighter is absolutely necessary for that highly-coveted glowy summer goddess look as well as a light dusting of powder to keep sweat and oil at bay.

THE COUNTRY GIRL

Vacation Ready: Part 5

If your idea of a perfect summer is to be close to the woods and the hay fields, then you need the proper outfit to go with it. What you'll need: peasant blouse, denim dungaree, gladiator sandals, good quality backpack. Keep the accessorizing and makeup minimal, wear lots of sunscreen (which you should be no matter where you're going) because you will be walking outdoors a ton and make sure to pack yourself a pair of sneakers and the appropriate gear for a hike. I'd throw a cowboy hat in there too, just for fun.

THE PASSENGER

Vacation Ready: Part 6

This outfit is simple and casual, as it should be. You all know that flying can be quite exhausting and draining so you need to make it easier on yourself. A chambray shirt, a pair of stretchy jeans and Converse are more than enough. In your purse: your favorite lip balm, a nice read, a moisturizing face mist (like a travel-friendy version of MAC's Fix+ ), and maybe concealer (recs: Clarins Instant Concealer, Clinique Airbrush concealer, Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer) and cream blush for freshening-up (Stila Convertible Color, YSL Kiss & Blush, Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge, MAC Cremeblend Blush).

THE RESORT VACATIONER

Vacation Ready: Part 7

A resort-ready, tropical-destination-worthy outfit should have a relaxed yet put-together vibe that makes it dressy and laid-back at the same time. To maintain that fine balance you will need a loose, ethereal dress in a soft fabric, a piece of statement jewelry, dainty high heels and a cross-body bag that adds that cool factor. Skin: bronzed and glowy but not overdone, eyes: slightly smokey, lips: naked, brows: groomed but not overdrawn, hair: natural. And there's your foolproof recipe for a head-turning ensemble.

That's all folks.

At least for now.
