Get the Look: Hilary Duff, Selena Gomez and Gossip Girl

Gossip girl fashion is well..the biggest style inspiration I draw. I usually don't follow blindly anybody's style but I definitely envy Serena's wardrobe! It's my all-time favorite tv show and I thought I should do a little post dedicated to the new season's outfits. Plus, I just made yesterday 2 lovely sets at polyvore with similars outfits from Selena Gomez's and Hilary's latest whereabouts.

I hope you like them as much as I enjoy creating them! :)

Ray of Light

Summer in Athens is almost unberable..Too much heat, too much gas in the air, too much air conditioning..Under that heating, burning sun, I took some pictures with one dress that I found at Topshop during my one-week fantastic trip to London. It is so sad that there aren't any Topshop stores in Greece and I always wanted to shop from there. Of course there is online shopping but I don't think I'll ever get used to it. It might be more comfortable for some, because you can choose and find whatever you like just by Googling and not wander all over the city in order to find this 'perfect' dress you need for the party. But, it's definitely not even close to enter a shop, try on clothes, and getting out of it with something that now belongs to you. I might sound like Rebecca Bloomwood right now, but believe me, I'm not an addict :P Yet.

I might have taken that a little bit off, but anyways, I really loved Topshop and I hope we have in Greece soon. Besides Topshop, I loved London in general, it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. I wanna go back so bad! (Hey that sounded like a title of a song, didn't it? :P) But one thing you won't find in London: Greek Burning Sun. Real summer.

Fall '10 Trends - Golden Girls

Okay, so winter is the time of the year when everybody goes a little bit extravagant, when everybody adds a little extra glamour because there are many celebrations in winter. This season, designers decided to go super diva-fabulous by adding lots of metallics and especially golden shades at their collections. I love gold, and when it is matched properly without too many accessories, it is very royal and elegant. It's all a matter of styling after all, right?

So Yesterday

Oh well, well. Since you like the whole "my philosophy" kind of post, I decided to make another one. "Once you kill a cow, you gotta make a burger" like GaGa says :P Well, I've been watching all the Fall '10 collections these days 'cause I wanna do some trend reports for winter soon, and I noticed one thing. No over-knee boots this year. The whole last year's 'over-knee' frenzy ended just like that and I really don't like to whine about those things, but these trends that come and go kind of piss me off. What yesterday was a "must-have", today is a "not anymore". And all this stuff you bought last year in the trend craziness now is garbage. And with the whole financial crisis and everything, we're not particularly able to spend our money everywhere on things that last for only one season.

So I made up this rule. Don't ever fall for the 'huge' trends that the magazines praise and everybody goes crazy about. When you see that something is worn by everybody and seen everywhere it only means that it's another trend that will be over as soon as the season's over. Besides, what really makes the difference (and what makes fashion in the first place), is wearing things that other people don't.

A true style icon isn't somebody who just wears what the magazines say he should. A true style icon doesn't have should's, have-to's and -the so-called - 'must-haves'. I true style icon is a trendsetter. And by definition that means: someone who sets a trend, not someone who wears the trend that someone else set. So, really, all these Hollywood stars who all of sudden, out of nowhere become "style icons" overnight just because they hired a decent stylist, are just a lie. Very few are these who truly have an eye for fashion. And those are the stars who don't fake anything, who don't pretend to be something, and who don't act like the whole world revolves around them.

Okay, so I might changed the subject a bit, but my point stays the same. Don't wear just what you're told to, 'cause that's just not what's gonna make you special. Wear what you like, what makes you feel comfortable and what YOU think suits you best. Don't follow blindly someone else's style, establish yours.

Ur so gay and you don't even like boys...

So, I was tired of creating another trend report, another polyvore "get the look" set, another 'cold' post on what we should wear according to fashion's orders. I am a strongly opinionated person, and since I never got to dedicate a post to men's fashion I decided to express my disagreement against the men's collections that I've been watching all these years. The number of collections I liked is very, VERY small and I really don't get it. Why should men dress like ... girls? To set the record straight: I love gay people and I totally support them. But why should straight men dress like .. they're not?

Guys, let me give you clue, girls don't like it when it's hard t distinguish whether your jeans are male or female. They don't also like it when you wear flashy colors like fuchsia or orange or lime green, and especially when you mix it all together like it's Halloween or Easter or something :S I don't even wanna touch the subject 'eyeliner' 'cause we're gonna jump to a whole new level...

And you know what I don't get? Metrosexual. What's with shaving everything? Did I say shaving? I'm sorry. What's wrong with WAXING everything (because shaving doesn't leave the skin smooth..:S)? Men are supposed to have hair. Yeah, be shocked and act like you're disgusted. HAIR, real hair. A straight man is supposed to look male. Because otherwise girls jump to the immediate conclusion that you're GAY. This latest 'trend' that makes the gender seem a little 'blurry' is really frustrating and totally unattractive. So please designers, stop trying to make them look like gals, 'cause except for irritating, it's also very funny, to the point of ridiculous.

WRONG, WRONG, WRONG:
