Inspiration: The real thing

What excites me the most when it comes to fashion designers is seeing how this fabulous dress ,which is now the hottest must-have item, was designed on the paper. How did its creator put the pencil on his paper, what inspired him and created this dress that so many women are wearin' right now and feel proud of themselves. The same dress that tomorrow some high-class top model - like Agyness Deyn or Sasha Pivovarova - will wear on a photoshoot which will be taken by Steven Meisel or Patrick Demarchelier and this picture chosen by Anna Wintour, will be a part of the next month's Vogue. The same issue that millions of women will read, from headlines to footers, and use as a shopping guide.

That's why today you'll get to see what all these dresses, shoes etc. that you see in Vogue, Elle and other fashion magazines, look like on paper:

Matthew Williamson for H&M

Oh god! When I heard that, I seriously couldn't believe in my ears! A top designer name next to a affordable clothing brand. What's better than having exclusive gorgeous pieces from a extraordinary fashion designer like Williamson in your wardrobe, at low prices? What makes bugs me the most is always those 1500$ tags you see on these magnificent dresses that forbid you to ever have them. Now H&M seems to have the solution for all this drama: No declined credit cards (Didn't you see what happened to Rebecca Bloomwood, at Confessions of a Shopaholic?? - Don't tell me you want to have the same results!), no extravagant amounts of money wasted.

Read what the British Vogue said about that:

HOT on the heels of a super-successful collaboration with Comme des Garcons, H&M has revealed that the next designer to work their magic on a capsule collection will be Matthew Williamson. "It is an incredible opportunity to be working with H&M, creating a 'Matthew Williamson for H&M' capsule collection. I love the fact that H&M has created a new phenomenon in fashion through the pioneering concept of collaborating with high-end designers to create one-off limited edition capsule collections. I am thrilled that my creations for H&M will be accessible to and hopefully enjoyed by so many people around the world," says Williamson, who will also make his first foray into menswear with the collaboration. "Matthew has such a good eye and a way for working with prints that he mixes up in a new way. When he combines these things, you get a very contemporary London look," explains H&M's creative advisor Margareta van den Bosch. "He is fantastic with piling on colour - it's a very stylish collaboration for H&M, and very much in line with the way we're thinking about fashion for spring/summer." Set to hit selected stores from April 23, expect to see a lot more of Mr Williamson on the high street next year - earlier this month it was revealed that, following an absence of two years, the designer's womenswear, childrenswear and accessories will return to the rails of Debenhams at the end of July too.

Designers Daily: Matthew Williamson

Matthew Williamson is on his own trip. Season in and season out, he practices a particular brand of Ibiza chic: neons, bohemian beading, and caftans are always in his bag of tricks. With bright colors and bold prints on the checklist for retailers (these items' cheery optimism makes them reliable sellers in a depressed economy), Williamson is in step for Spring. Sequined racerback tank maxi dresses in a graphic print jersey will make the cut with stores and longtime fans like Julia Stiles and Joy Bryant, the latter of whom sported one of the designer's sundresses with sandals, despite an impending downpour—how's that for optimism? Also in the plus category: a belted, allover sequin tunic dress; a beaded bed jacket worn with an easy T-shirt and cropped white jeans; and an absolutely electric abstract floral-print chiffon that was used for a very of-the-moment jumpsuit, as well as parachute pants and one of Williamson's signature caftans. He veered too far off course, however, with a black leather bustier and motocross pants. Why mess with a good thing?

Met Gala: Best dressed

Wow! Met Gala impressed us once again with its glamour , royalty and gorgeous outfits worn by all the A-list Hollywood's fashionistas. Check out the most fascinating outfits that dazzled us at the Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

The singer makes her first major red carpet appearance since February in a menswear-influenced black puff-sleeve suit, ruffled white shirt and a bow-tie – all by Dolce & Gabbana.

After arriving with Marc Jacobs's fiancé Lorenzo Martone, the fashionista strikes a solo pose in her polka-dotted one-shoulder Marc Jacobs minidress with a dramatic train, Louis Vuitton heels and a Chopard ruby ring.

The star revisits '60s high-society with her teased mane of hair, Van Cleef & Arpels jewels and wasp-waisted Marc Jacobs purple taffeta strapless dress.

Leaving daughter Honor Marie at home, the actress is a hot mama in her Jason Wu beaded bodice and cobalt blue skirt and Bruno Frisoni for Jason Wu evening sandals – not to mention the 51.08-carat Zambian emerald-and-diamond earrings, 52 carats of diamonds on her wrists, and a ring and bracelet of diamonds and pink and mauve sapphires, all from Van Cleef and Arpels.

What would the girls on the steps say? The Gossip Girl star picks one of the most avant-garde outfits of the night in an elaborate Louis Vuitton tunic with sculpted sleeves over jeweled leggings, ankle-tie shoes and Fred Leighton jewelry.

At the other end of the spectrum, Meester's costar goes for all-out sex appeal in her plunging Versace teal chiffon evening gown paired with crystal-detailed Versace sandals, Lorraine Schwartz rings and a VBH clutch.

Uniquely qualified to host the evening, the supermodel is a modern goddess in her gold lamĂ© turban and matching one-shouldered, backless minidress – all by fellow host Marc Jacobs.

The singer matches her baby blue eyes to her turquoise Tommy Hilfiger halter gown, set off with bold metal jewelry.

With her Dolce & Gabbana-clad boyfriend Justin Bartha by her side (not pictured), the star designer shows off her toned back with a plunging white gown and Fred Leighton jewelry.
Dazzled much, no?
