Fashion Faux Pas: Halle Berry

Oh no no no no no! What is that? Some 90's Baywatch theme? This dress is sooo ugly and looks so freakishly cheap. And what are those flip flops? I thought we were in April, not in August. That look could have worked if it was worn while she was doing her shopping, with a pair of huge sunglasses and a hobo. But on the RED CARPET? This is unacceptable!
(Btw, I never liked her style anyway! :P)
Until next time,
xoxo Athena

A few things I have in mind...or plans?

Well, I know very very well that this blog is very new and it hasn't really gained much popularity, I never expected it to do so. It's hardly one month old so it would be pretty pathetic of me to complain. However, I'd be very grateful to whoever decides to visit and take some time to read a post. It would mean a lot to me. Besides, I bet none of the super famous blogs became known from the very first day of its creation. Concerning these 'few things' I have in mind, well, I consider to expand maybe a little bit the material of this website. Rather than monopolize viewers' interest with hot buys and fashionista atricles. I'm thinking of uploading pictures of me in different outfits and sharing my ideas with you. How about that? I'm not really sure, though. There are quite a few things I need to get in order asap. You see, aside from Internet, I have some personal life, REAL life I get to live and my priorities sometimes keep me off my beloved computer. But I never forget you guys, (I know some of you out there) who have truly supported me so much. Thanks Hilary, thanks Ingrid, thanks Emma, thanks Chloe, thanks to you all girls, you deserve it!

Inspiration: Fashion Through the Decades

Vintage is a hot trend and in combination with the very now must-haves, you can create the perfect look. Many designers are inspired by the fashion trends of older decades. Coco Chanel, Marilyn Monroe, Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn, but even the latest ones: Madonna, and the Sex and the City girls have been a huge inspiration to all the designers considering that each of them represents a whole decade, even an era in the fashion history.

Let's make a quick flashback and remember a little these things that broke rules in the past:
20s:
> Charleston style: Fringed dresses, long pearl necklaces, dark features. Black and red characterize this wonderful period in fashion. Sexuality and femininity.
30s:

>The elegance and chicness all in one woman. Coco Chanel.
40s:
>Puffy sleeves, high waisted skirts. Don't tell me you haven't seen these in 00's catwalks?
50s:
>Full skirts, tiny waist. I can picture in my mind all the 5o's Greek movies...
60s:
>60's skinny top model, Twiggy. The make-up during this particurlar decade was so intense with an extra focus on the eyes. Lots of eyeliner and mascara then.
70s:
>Wide leg hight waisted pants. And lots of neon.

80s:
>"...Oh girls just wanna have fun.."
>"...Like a virgin...like the very first time..."

90s:
>Shoulder pads and ugly shoes. Ugh! 1990 Sex and the City.
>Late 90's, Sex and the City. Again.

Inspiration: John Galliano

No, don't worry. It's not another post about Galliano's hottest looks for SS 2009. But every time I look at John Galliano's outfits, I'm amazed, they inspire me so much and I'm sure I'm not the only one. The extravaganza in his designs and the creativity and originality he conveys are simply eye-catching.

Fashion Faux Pas: Taylor Swift

Hey, this is a section I just came up with! We all admire stars for their fierce style but what happens when their outfits turn into a total disaster? That's why we're here!
Let's start with this week's fashion disaster:

Well, the otherwise beautiful country singer, didn't make it this time. She totally ruined this cute dress with cow-boy boots? Don't you know that the cali-girl style is soo last year? Headbands are hot, but these boots are definitely not! And enough with all this innocent I'm-a-virgin style. You're 20 not 12. (Am I being too harsh? Sorry.)

Style Icons: Anne Hathaway

Since her big screen role as Andrea in "Devil Wears Prada" Anne Hathaway has become one of the sweetest style icons ever with an amazing high class NY style and her beautiful smile. She is an amazing actress (don't forget she was nominated for Oscars) and she definitely has an eye for fashion.
Check out the princess turning into a fashion diva:

Metallics and feathers, so trendy!

Check out those amazing Jee Vice shades and Louboutin heels! Hot as fire!
Fierce, no?
